Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough in Raya Manchester, England which has a population of 503,000 inhabitants in 2011. Manchester is located in Manchester Urban Area Raya, which is the third largest urban area in the United Kingdom, with a population of about 2.2 million. Manchester is located in the south-central part of North West England, bordered by the Cheshire Plain to the south and the Pennines to the north and east. Manchester is also the birthplace of the first railway station in the world, where scientists first split the atom and create computer storage program. Manchester has two universities, one of which is the largest single university in the United Kingdom. Economic Manchester is one of the largest urban economy in the United Kingdom. Manchester also became the third city in the United Kingdom's most visited by foreign tourists after London and Edinburgh, and the most frequently visited in England (outside London).
